FINANCIAL CLOSE ACHIEVED: STAR AMERICA HAS REACHED FINANCIAL CLOSE ON THE THIRD PHASE OF A MIXED-USE STUDENT HOUSING PROJECT FOR THE UNIVERSITY OF TEXAS AT DALLAS

(New York) – Star America is pleased to announce that it has reached financial close as an equity partner on the third phase of Northside, a mixed-use student housing project for The University of Texas at Dallas (“UTD”). Expanding on the success of our investments in the first two phases, the project will deliver 370 beds in partnership with UTD and will be co-developed by Balfour Beatty Campus Solutions and Dallas-based residential and commercial developer Wynne/Jackson.
Located on a 5-acre lot ground-leased by UTD adjacent to phase 2, the project will include mid-rise apartments with easy access to restaurants and entertainment venues which serve the more than 25,000 students, faculty, staff and young professionals of UTD.
The project broke ground on June 3rd and is anticipated to be delivered in July of 2020 in preparation for the 2020/2021 academic year. It will be built by Dallas-based Andres Construction, who will lead the overall design/build team, featuring Architecture Demarest as the lead design firm. Andres and Demarest were in the same roles for the successful delivery of phase 2.
